Blood Donation Camp

Surujmukhi, in collaboration with the Assam Medical College and Hospital Blood Bank in Dibrugarh, organized a blood donation camp to help those in need. Over 30 individuals generously donated blood in support of this cause. The event not only provided critical resources to those in need but also raised awareness of the importance of blood donation in the local community. The partnership between Surujmukhi and the hospital reflects their shared commitment to promoting health and well-being in the region.

Free Eye checkup camps

“Our eyes are precious organs that allow us to experience the beauty of the world around us”

It is frightening to imagine living with cataracts or other eye problems such as NLD Block, Pterygium, and the like. However, through a collaborative effort with the Lion K. K. Saharia Eye Hospital in Dibrugarh, Surujmukhi organized five free eye checkup camps for individuals suffering from these conditions. These camps were followed by free surgeries to help those in need regain their vision and quality of life. This initiative was a testament to Surujmukhi’s commitment to promoting health and well-being in the community.

Health Awareness Program

Surujmukhi has been conducting health awareness camps in various Tea Tribe areas to address the poor health condition and hygiene of the community. The Tea Tribe community, which constitutes 20% of the total population in Assam, has been historically marginalized and exploited. Surujmukhi’s efforts to raise awareness about sanitation, alcoholism, and other health-related issues have been vital in improving the community’s human development index.

Vitamin Angels

We were fortunate to receive Vitamin A and Albendazole capsules from Vitamin Angels, USA, which we distributed to children in various tea garden areas of Dibrugarh district. The distribution details are as follows: 500 infants aged 6-11 months were provided with Vitamin A 100,000 IU, 500 children aged 12-59 months were given Vitamin A 200,000 IU, and another 500 children in the same age group received Albendazole 400 mg. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of these young ones in our community.
